About us
The Andreas Papandreou Institute of Strategic and Development Studies (ISTAME) is a centre for political research and analysis with a focus on social democracy. ISTAME's key objectives are to develop new ideas and progressive strategies to address global challenges, as well as hosting events designed to promote deliberative democracy. In order to achieve its objectives, ISTAME places particular emphasis on:

• Publishing reports and books on topical issues such as agricultural reform, social welfare, and global governance.

• Collaborating with institutes and think tanks in Greece and abroad in areas of common interest.

• Engaging with the academic and scientific community through an open network of volunteers and collaborators.

• Encouraging political debate using interactive online tools to stimulate dialogue and public participation.

• Promoting deliberative democracy by creating regional committees / working groups and organising events all over Greece.
